End Fed Half Wave Build Project – June 20th

Coming in June! Just in time for Field Day is our End Fed Half Wave (EFHW) antenna project!

On Saturday, June 20th we’ll meet at the EOC about 9:00am and build this antenna kit.
The EFHW is an easy to build portable antenna that is resonant on 40 thru 10 meters. No tuner required!
We’ve put together a kit, instructions and even some extra insulators. You’ll need to bring a soldering iron, screwdriver, needle nose pliers and wire cutters.
The cost is $35.00 and the deadline to sign up is June 6th. There’s a sign up sheet at the EOC and Here.

EFHW Kit Build!

Last Month we learned about the End Fed Half Wave antenna (EFHW). This month we built it!!

On Saturday, November 18th we built our EFHW portable antennas for 40m, 20m, 15m, and 10m.
Seventeen club members of various skill levels participated and all successfully built their own portable multi-band antenna.

In December we took the antennas into the field and tuned them for optimal performance. The project was great fun and we anticipate another build project or two in 2024. If you have ideas for a fun build project talk to Steve W5HK, Greg KA9SUU, or Paul W5PFH.
